Today in class I learned about how to make a an extremely awesome web page. Its as simple as learning a few codes. it does not even take that long if you know what you are doing. So i will help you out! first there is a very fun program called Macromedia Dreamweaver Mx 2004(: there you can pick a back round color, form a table, name your page, and even put cool pictures and animations on there. from the "word" of my teacher WYSIWYG, What You See Is What You Get! :b

Animation
"if you can type it, you can make a movie" a quote from xtranormal. a program at which you can make an animation movie as easy as typing in your script, choosing your characters and hitting play. There are many easy to use programs at which you can make an exciting movie through animation like, for example spongebob square pants or even bugs bunny! there are many applications to use for this program such as tweening at which you can morph your object into something cool and out of this world :)

How To Read A URL
URL
The most common URL probly looks something like this > http://facebook.com < but there is much more to that. For example the different parts of a URL are protocal://computer.domain/pathname/filename.ext . There are many different names extensions etc, to any URL you are searching for. Most people do not know there is different protocals on the URL and not just http. There is ftp news and others but ftp stands for file transfer protocal, you can use it to download a file from a server. In different parts of the world they have different extension names and not simply .com or .edu their is .it for Italy or even .de for Germany. as you can see there is a lot to know about URLs and what things stand for, but eventually you can get the hang of it. I chose thounds because it seemed fun and appealed to my every day needs. Many students such as music students. It is a site where you can produce, record and edit your own music. its very easy to use the buttons are clearly labeled and it is a free using site. no money required. The best part of Thounds is you can record yourself playing your own instrument and edit that. But i did have some difficulties signing up you can eventually get the hang of it and start molding your music.

Software
Software is a big part of everyone lives today. Teens especially use software daily. A student would use twitter, online docs, or even a blog to help broaden their knowledge of the Internet and soft wares. Twitter would be a useful way to interact and communicate with other students or teachers about a project or any questions they may have. The bad part of Twitter is it is very public and you may receive creepy messages from an unknown person. Online docs is extremely useful and convenient to anyone who does not have a printer or does not have time to print something out.The bad part of Online Docs is it might slow down your computer a smudge. You can upload a document onto the Internet and save it there. A blog, on the other hand, is a way for students especially to publicize their views comments or ideas about anything they want. A downside to a blog is it can be a tedious task to keep updating and again it is public for anyone to see and or comment. The Internet is growing to be more and more useful each day.

Hardware
Hardware is something to do with your computer that you can physically touch. Your mouse, keyboard, CPU (tower or cover) and monitor are all computer hardware. The brain of the whole system is the motherboard a big blueish green plate in your CPU. There are many different little parts in your CPU but one of the more important parts is the fan. The fan lets out all the heat from the computer so it does not over heat or break down. There are two different brands or types of computers the Macs or PCs. Macs literally have there CPU built into the monitor. But PCs have a whole other unit.
Peripherals are added on tools to your computer such as web cams, printers, or a scanner to enhance the performance of your computer. Some are built in others you have to get separately.
The internet is connected through your computer and serves information through your hard drive. The server then gives you information to use and obtain.

Copyright
Copyright is the protection and security of anything from a song to catchy phrase, but not the idea by itself. You need to have concrete evidence such as a mock up or a prototype of your idea to follow through with the process. An important thing to keep in mind is that you HAVE to have original work, anything taken from someone would be a crime that no one wants to deal with so make sure you have supporting documentation that reveals evidence of authentication. After you think you have the next million dollar idea get a request form and determine the exact category of the work you've done. If you are unsure about what it falls under there is a list available at The U.S Copyright office OR you can request a list bye calling their main office. Once you have your information sorted out, request a U.S Trademark Application which can be found online or at their offices. If you are serious about your work there is a twenty dollar filling fee which should be sent with your forms. After sending your forms in it may take as many as eight months to receive approval, so just kick back and hang tight for the results. If there are ANY complications with these steps just contact The U.S Copyright Office.

Advanced Search
Ever wonder why millions of results may appear when searching information on the Internet? Well, as you might have read in the previous post Advanced Search is a fast way to narrow down your search to the exact information you want. It is as easy as going to Google or Yahoo, finding the search bar, and clicking "Advanced Search" it will lead you to a page where there are numerous questions such as what language or file type you want your results in. Then, by typing in specific words the search engine will find your results. If too many results come up then i suggest going back, and looking over what you put. But there is another solution. At the bottom of your advanced search, underneath which domain you are looking for there is a "+" plus button to click and those questions will help you go even farther into your research. It will ask you questions such as the date it was published and the region it came from. Overall i suggest this method with high standards to what it can help you with.

Searching The Internet
Search Engines Today
Search engines are all very different, either in the way they look, or the information they produce. for example 'mamma' has a very convenient layout with a picture of a lady as "mother of the internet," it looks up and combines information from ALL search engines such as google, yahoo and bing. They have there own unique way of looking up information, whether your looking up dogs or cats they have one thing in common; they try as hard as they can to narrow down and help you find the bit of information that you are looking for. Having good computer skills especially in society today is key. there are many ways to search quickly and efficiently, like using "advanced search" on google will definitely help you narrow down your key information to get you on the right path. Although the internet has its flaws, like internet scams or hoaxes that can waste time and give you unnecessary worries. A helpful search engine that i would suggest is google scholar. You can narrow down the specific date you want and other information that would help you reach your goal. All these ideas will help you grow in your knowledge of how to search through the internet with an open mind.
